PORTRAIT Laine

Live and work in Linz / Austria.

7 years ago Kristina LINDBERG left Sweden and arrived in Austria. At this time she did not know that she could sing, and now she also speaks perfect German.

Her interest for music certainly comes from her father, who was an inspired jazz pianist in the sixties. Always on the search for beautiful female voices, the producers Clemens and Stefan PICHLER based in Linz/Austria discover Kristina´s talent. In next to no time they find their way in their home studio which soon serves to become Kristina´s second home. Here they work with electronic sounds and it was that tendentious soft, warm and organic sound, which touched her.

At this point the producers Michael and Peter HORNEK join the crew. Close to the matter and with a keen sense of her potential they become important musical companions.

The first results where released on the TRES:CIEL Sampler Volume 1 in the year 2002. Two years later LAINE presents 11 tracks gathered on their first album Deep Down Low (2004, Scream Records/Ixthuluh). The firstling moves itself between Downbeat, Trip Hop and Drum ´n´ bass.

The next 18 months, after several live acts, LAINE reforms itself again: Clemens PICHLER places the bass guitar to the side and exchanges it with a sampling station. The e-guitar is replaced by acoustic guitar sounds and Kristina sings more often in Swedish. The new acquisition, Christian WENDT a young upright-bass player underlines the current development. Leaving the studio sound behind, aiming for a jamming sound with a jazzy note.

As the first result the new record LONG LOST FEELING enters the market in March 2006, recorded live at the Amann Studios/Vienna.

LAINE´s third longplayer entitled sÂnt È livet will be released on Etage Noir Recordings in spring 2007.
